My favorite numbers are 2, 3, 5. Why do I like these numbers? I have reasons on each of them.
First, Let me explain the reason of 2 and 5. Both of them have a same reason. when I was a elementary school students, I went to Soroban lesson three times a week. I often used to do calculation by using Soroban. My favorite way of calculation was division. I can not help doing division when I see the numbers. For example, we can check the time on TV, so whenever I see it, I divided the time. I like to think "which number can divide this?". It made me excited. The custom has realized me that 2 and 5 can divide any number. Therefore, I like these. When I can divide any numbers completely, I feel so happy.
Next, I'll tell you why I like 3. when I was a highschool students, I had so much paper tests. Most of them were the style of marking a number. I had heard one technique which is useful for those tests from some one. I can't remember who taught me the way. When the answers don't come up with me, Checking 3 is better than choosing others. I don't know why but I believed the "rumor" and often used that way. Even now, I use the way of marking on TOEIC and TOEFL test. Therefore I like number 3. Actually, though I checked number 3, most of them were incorrect.
My favorite number was not always same. When I was a child, I liked number 4 and multiples of 4. That is because of my family number. My family consists of 4 people, that is father, mother, brother and me. I had friendly feeling towards the number. Therefore I liked number 4. However, I knew that 4 indicates "die" in Japan when I was a elementary school students. Pronunciation of die in Japanese resembles 4 so it is a bad omen. After that, I changed my favorite number. I think each people's favorite number are not always same. It will keep changing from our experience. I realized that some of them must have affected which number I like by reminding my memories.
Those remind me of my past memories. Whenever see 2 and 5, the memories of my elementary school students days come up with me. I used to go to Soroban lessons with my friends after school, made my Soroban teachers angry by talking with friends while the lessons and so on. I can feel those were the good old days. And also 3 makes me think of my high school days. I had so many pre-examination for entering the University. Those days were hard and made us tired, so we encouraged each other. Number has many meanings, it is not just "number". Number is important for me to remember my school days. These numbers play a role of index for me. My favorite numbers make me think of the past memories related to those.
